Windows in "Green" Apartment

Edmonton's Communitas Group is planning the city's first "green" apartment building. Designed to be 50%
more energy efficient than conventional apartments, the project is set for construction next spring on the
corner of 110 Street and 97 avenue directly across from Ezio Faroane Park.

Communitas will employ VISIONWALL windows, passive solar collectors and a unique air-quality control
design to maximize solar energy in the building so that each home will require only a gas fireplace to
stay warm.

"This is going to be the greenest building in Edmonton and Alberta by a long shot," says Brian Scott, Vice
President of Technology, Research and Marketing for Communitas, which also provided input into the
building of Edmonton's Riverwind luxury co-op.
